The science of reading, writing, and learning has given us a clearer path. My work advances that science and moves it into usable practice so educators, schools, and systems can focus on what works and let go of what doesn't.
Good evidence does not move itself into classrooms. My work focuses on what it takes for effective literacy practices to be developed, refined, understood, and used well in schools. That includes conducting intervention research, providing professional learning, and engaging in implementation partnerships with the systems responsible for improving student outcomes. Let's get to work.
